There are those who argue he got the best deal he could and that’s he’s put the Repugnants in a terrible position going forward. Admittedly, none of them is a big name commentator or generally-acknowledged “expert.” Perhaps that alone is enough to make their contrarian versions of what happened, observations posted as comments to the pontifications the big name guys and gals, worth considering. Update: This morning’s Philadelphia Inquirer presents both sides of the argument on the editorial page, with this editorial supporting the President and just beneath that this opinon piece criticizing him. It’s an interesting layout for an Editorial Page with the paper’s opinion followed immediately by a columnist’s counter-argument rather than separating the content as is the custom. I think I like it.
